DataLink 2000
DataLink 2000 is an internal modem for Amiga 2000 and Amiga 3/4000 computers.
It is a Zorro 2 base board that feature 2400 bps plus MNP5 error correction.
This modem can also handle fax communications up to 9600 bps. Applied
Engineering was supposed to have also an optional chip set or ROM to allow
this modem to go up to 9600 bps also for data transfer.
The card is half size and has a plate that will be attached to the back
panel of you Amiga and offers you a through connection for the telephon
line with standard RJ45.
Originally the card was shipped with the plate, the a nice 64 pages manual
and 2 disks conaining the driver and a fax software (never tested!). The
driver should work with KS 2.0 (and theoretically also with 3.x).
The installation is very easy and the card just need the proper device
to be installed in DEVS:, called dl2000.device. On the card you
will find the connector for the plate (for the telephone) and only one
jumper, labelled J1. Unfortunatly the manual doesn't say what it is for.
